Multiple genetic marker analysis challenges the introduction history ofUlva australis(Ulvales, Chlorophyta) on French coasts

چکیده
The green seaweeds Ulva australis and U. pertusa were described from southern Australia Japan, respectively. They are conspecific australis, the currently accepted taxon, is native to temperate marine waters in north-eastern Asia, known be introduced overseas into Australasia, Americas Europe. Although genetics of have been investigated elsewhere, along French coasts origins history introduction this species need clarified. We used mitochondrial, plastid nuclear markers differentiate populations Atlantic coasts. tufA gene as a barcoding marker revealed well-defined with higher haplotype diversity vs. areas. ITS2 region (nuclear) rbcL (plastid) compare specimens lectotype australis. Putative geographic genetically determined examined using genetic better resolution, atpI-H combined mitochondrial trnA-N. Origin(s) inferred comparison between their haplotypes those previously non-native areas worldwide. Our results indicate that presence Mediterranean result multiple introductions independent pathways, suggest historical oyster transfers Japan British Columbia can only partially explain observed patterns markers. Alternative hypotheses for timing pathways proposed light historic background maritime transport networks trade Asia

15 صفحه اولGenetic diversity of Black Pomfret (Parastromateus niger) in Iranian coasts of Persian Gulf using AFLP molecular marker
Black Pomfret (Parastromateus niger) is one of the commercially important pelagic fishes of the southern coasts of Iran. Its stocks are decreasing due to over exploitation, pollution and lack of fishing management programs. In order to assess the population size of this species and to preserve its valuable genetic resources, genetic structure of 32 fish samples was investigated using AFLP marke...
متن کاملInsights into the Genetic History of French Cattle from Dense SNP Data on 47 Worldwide Breeds
BACKGROUND Modern cattle originate from populations of the wild extinct aurochs through a few domestication events which occurred about 8,000 years ago. Newly domesticated populations subsequently spread worldwide following breeder migration routes. The resulting complex historical origins associated with both natural and artificial selection have led to the differentiation of numerous differen...
